The Japanese Society for Bioinformatics (JSBi) promotes the following three topics. For details, please visit the 'About JSBi' page.
- Advancement of bioinformatics as academic research,
- Success of bioinformatics in technology and industry, and
- Establishment of bioinformatics in basic and advanced education.
The JSBi selected several key areas from the wealth of topics in bioinformatics, and started 'WGs and SIGs'.
- SIG on Systems Biology
- SIG on Biological Information Network
- SIG on Pharma-Informatics
- SIG on Ontology
The JSBi's annual meeting is held as a poster session in the International Conference on Genome Informatics. The proceedings of this international conference will be published by the society as a volume in the Genome Informatics Series, and will be registered in Medline.
- Reduced registration fee at the Genome Informatics Workshop.
- Free admission to SIG meetings.
- Student travel support for the GIW, ISMB, PSB, and RECOMB conferences in cooperation with the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB).
- Access to the latest information on bioinformatics on the 'Members only' page (under construction).
