Position Title
One Assistant Professor (five‑year term, renewable)

Bioinformatics or Chemoinformatics (particularly next-generation AI-driven drug discovery)
Courses to Be Taught (Planned)
Undergraduate courses:
General education courses, specialized subjects (Bioinformatics or Chemoinformatics, Practical English Communication), and supervision of undergraduate students in both educational and research settings, including laboratory courses and graduation projects.
Graduate courses:
Specialized subjects within the relevant field and supervision of graduate students in both master’s and doctoral programs.
Qualifications
(1) Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree at the time of appointment and be an early-career researcher within eight years of earning the degree.
(2) Applicants must have research achievements in the relevant field and be capable of supervising graduate students in both master’s and doctoral programs.
(3) Demonstrate strong motivation for education, research, and industry-academia collaboration.
(4) Show motivation to secure external research funding, such as Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI).
(5) Possess the ability to actively contribute to university-wide activities, including regional outreach.
(6) Be able to teach classes in Japanese; the ability to teach in English is also desirable.
(No restrictions on native language or nationality. Applicants whose native language is not Japanese must have sufficient English skills to perform their teaching and administrative duties effectively.)
(7) Be able to contribute to the entrance examination work.
(8) Be able to contribute to general education.
(9) Have a strong enthusiasm for teaching international students.

(2) Form 2: List of research achievements (categorized into books, peer-reviewed journal articles, accepted papers, conference papers, other articles, patents, etc.; list all authors for each item)
(3) Form 3: List of KAKENHI grants obtained and other external funding received
(4) Offprints of major papers (approximately three; photocopies acceptable)
(5) List of invited talks at domestic and international conferences
(6) Record of awards
(7) Summary of past research and statement of future educational and research goals (approximately 2,000 characters)
(8) Two letters of recommendation; if self-nominating, provide names and contact information of two referees

(1) Interviews may be held during the selection process. Travel expenses will not be reimbursed. (When an in-person interview is not feasible, the interview may be conducted online.)

(5) Working conditions adhere to the University of Toyama employment regulations.
Salary will be determined based on academic background and work experience. Please note that the compensation structure for successful candidates through this recruitment will be an annual salary system (which includes a severance payment upon retirement).
